Student Police cadet
- Student Police Cadet (SPC) is a school-based youth development program that aims to instill values such as discipline, leadership, and community service among students in India. The program is initiated and implemented by the Kerala Police Department in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
- The SPC program aims to create a sense of social responsibility among students and promote law-abiding behavior. It focuses on developing the leadership and interpersonal skills of students, along with a sense of civic consciousness and commitment towards the community.
- The program includes various activities such as physical training, community service, disaster management, traffic management, and crime prevention. The SPC program also conducts workshops, seminars, and training sessions to educate students about various issues such as cyber crime, drug abuse, and gender sensitization.
- The program is open to students in the age group of 13-18 years and is voluntary. The SPC program has been implemented in various states across India, and has received positive feedback from students, parents, and educators for its positive impact on student behaviour and personality development.
